Jo Aram (조아람), whose real name is Jo Hye-yeon (조혜연), is a South Korean actress and former singer born on August 5, 2000. Before turning to acting, she made a name for herself in the K-pop industry under the name Hyeyeon, as a member of the girl group Gugudan.
She made her debut with Gugudan in June 2016 under Jellyfish Entertainment. As the group’s singer and dancer, she was initially its youngest member. In 2017, she also joined the subunit Gugudan 5959 alongside Kang Mi-na and appeared on the single «Ice Chu.» In May 2018, however, she put her activities on hold for health reasons before officially leaving the group a few months later to focus on her studies.
After several years away from the entertainment industry, she returned in 2022 under the stage name Jo Aram, this time as an actress. Represented by Beyond J, she makes her debut in the drama The Killer's Shopping List, in which she plays an experienced part-time employee.
His career really took off in 2023 thanks to Doctor Cha. In the series, she plays Jeon So-ra, a demanding and determined surgical resident. Her performance brought her greater recognition and earned her the Best New Actress award at the APAN Star Awards.
She continues by saying KBS Drama Special: Overlap Knife, Knife, and then landed a leading role in The Auditors in 2024, in which she plays Yoon Seo-jin. In 2025, she plays Kim Ji-song in To the Moon, a performance for which she won the Best New Actress award at the MBC Drama Awards.
In 2026, Jo Aram continues her rise to stardom with a new lead role: Park Su-a in the romantic drama A Love Other Than Yours.
