Jung Joon-won (정준원) is a South Korean actor born on January 13, 1988. After studying at the Seoul Institute of the Arts, he gradually built his career through numerous film and television roles, before gaining much wider recognition with Resident Playbook in 2025.
He began appearing in movies in the mid-2010s. He can be seen, in particular, in The Avian Kind (2015), Like a French Movie and Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet (2016), and then in Anarchist from Colony and The Table (2017). In 2018, he played Deok-cheon in the crime thriller Believer, a role he reprised several years later in Believer 2 (2023). He also appears in Little Forest, My First Client, Cheer Up, Mr. Lee and Escape.
On television, Jung Joon-won initially took on a number of supporting roles. After Medical Top Team, he has appeared in several productions, including My Lawyer, Mr. Jo 2: Crime and Punishment, Persona and VIP. Between 2020 and 2021, he played Choi Kyung-woo in Hush. He then appears in A Model Family (2022), in which he plays Detective Cha Yun-seok.
His career took a major turn in 2025 with Resident Playbook, a spin-off of Hospital Playlist. In it, he plays Goo Do-won, a doctor whose character has brought him considerable exposure and made him much better known to the public.
In 2026, he continued this momentum by landing the lead role of Kwon Tae-seong in A Bona Fide Killer. After several years spent primarily playing supporting roles, Jung Joon-won is gradually establishing himself as an actor capable of carrying leading roles, while maintaining the understated and natural style that characterizes his acting.
