Biography

Lee Joo Ahn (이주안), born as Lee Dong Min, is a South Korean actor born on January 24, 1996. He graduated from Mugeo High School before going on to study at Dankook University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree with a major in acting and theater arts.

Before the start of his career, Lee Joo Ahn went through a major family crisis. At the age of 22, he donated 70 % of his liver to his mother, who was suffering from cirrhosis. As a result of this procedure, he was exempted from South Korea’s mandatory military service.

He began his acting career in 2018. That year, he appeared in the film The Great Battle, where he briefly plays a soldier on the border. He made his television debut in the famous drama SKY Castle, in which he plays Lee Dong-min, an orthopedic surgery resident.

He continued his career with several supporting roles, notably in Save Me Season 2 and Chief of Staff Season 2 in 2019. In 2020, he joined True Beauty in the role of Choi Man-sik. He then made appearances in Youth of May and Snowdrop in 2021.

After spending a few more years focusing on variety shows, Lee Joo Ahn is returning to dramas with a guest appearance in Love Song for Illusion in 2024.

Announcements

The year 2025 marks a new milestone in his career. He plays Gong-gil, the leader of the Namsadangpae troupe, in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, one of his most notable roles. He also joined the cast of Useless Love in a supporting role.

In 2026, he finally landed a leading role in A Love Other Than Yours, in which he plays the role of Han Tae-seung alongside Jo Aram, thus confirming his progression toward leading roles.
