With his natural charisma, expressive eyes, and ability to transition from romance to intense drama, he has quickly established himself as a rising star in the world of K-dramas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coming from a family with ties to the arts, he is the son of former models Choo Seung-il and Kang Sung-jin, and his younger brother, Cha Jung-woo, is also an actor. Passionate about the stage, Choo Young-woo studied acting at the prestigious theater department of the Korea National University of Arts before officially launching his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Her K-dramas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He made his debut in 2021 with the web drama <em>You Make Me Dance<\/em>, before appearing in <em>Police University<\/em> and <em>School 2021<\/em>. Her charm and screen presence quickly caught the public's attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2022, he landed his first leading role in the romance <em>Once Upon a Small Town<\/em>, where his portrayal of veterinarian Han Ji-yul has won over K-drama fans. He then confirmed his potential with <em>Oasis<\/em> In 2023, his performance earned him the Best New Actor award at the KBS Drama Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it is with <em>The Tale of Lady Ok<\/em> (2024\u20132025) marked a new milestone for Choo Young-woo. His acclaimed performance earned him the Best New Actor award at the 2025 Baeksang Arts Awards, one of Korea\u2019s most prestigious awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That same year, he made a strong impression in the Netflix medical drama <em>The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call<\/em>, which won an award at the Blue Dragon Series Awards, and then explores a darker tone in <em>Mercy for None<\/em>. He continues his rise with <em>Head Over Heels<\/em> and is already preparing for the future with <em>Love Doctor<\/em> scheduled for 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In just a few years, Choo Young-woo has gone from a rising star to a leading figure in the new wave of Korean drama.
