Licenciado por la Universidad Nacional de Artes de Corea, se interes\u00f3 por la interpretaci\u00f3n ya en la secundaria y se form\u00f3 en arte dram\u00e1tico con el apoyo de su abuela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comenz\u00f3 con varios cortometrajes, entre ellos <em>Repatriaci\u00f3n<\/em> (2000), <em>El camello<\/em> (2008), <em>Coraz\u00f3n de espinas<\/em> (2010) y <em>The Out Boxer<\/em> (2011). Esta \u00faltima le vali\u00f3 el premio \u00abFace in Shorts Award\u00bb en el Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de Asiana en 2012. En 2014, debut\u00f3 en televisi\u00f3n en <em>Tres d\u00edas<\/em>, y despu\u00e9s al cine comercial en <em>El objetivo<\/em>. Al mismo tiempo, desarrolla una carrera en el teatro, sobre todo en <em>True West<\/em>, <em>Canciones antiguas y perversas<\/em>, <em>Judo Boy<\/em> y <em>The Pride<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Su popularidad creci\u00f3 en 2019 gracias a la pel\u00edcula de suspense <em>Extra\u00f1os del infierno<\/em>, donde interpreta al misterioso Yoo Gi-hyuk. A continuaci\u00f3n, consigue un papel protagonista en <em>Buscar<\/em> (2020), antes de aparecer en <em>Ella nunca lo sabr\u00eda<\/em> y, sobre todo, <em>Mina<\/em> (2021). Su interpretaci\u00f3n de Han Ji-yong en esta \u00faltima le vali\u00f3 una nominaci\u00f3n al Premio Baeksang de las Artes al mejor actor secundario. A continuaci\u00f3n, protagoniz\u00f3 <em>Segundo matrimonio y deseos<\/em> (2022) y <em>La canci\u00f3n de los bandidos<\/em> (2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En 2025, interpreta a Yi Bang-won, el futuro rey Taejong, en la serie hist\u00f3rica <em>La reina que corona<\/em>, y luego vuelve a interpretar a su personaje de Hyun Woo-yong en <em>Tibur\u00f3n: la tormenta<\/em>.
