A few weeks before its release, « Four Hands, Two Sonatas »continues to reveal the world of its two heroes.".
After introducing Kang Bi-oh and Choi Jeong-yo individually, tvN has released new concept photos, this time highlighting the relationship that will develop between the characters in Song Kang and Lee Jun-young. The musical drama, set to premiere in August, will follow their journey from their years at an arts high school through to their adult lives as professional pianists. Check out these photos of them.

Two piano prodigies with contrasting backgrounds
Song Kang plays Kang Bi-oh, a true piano prodigy. A brilliant student and perfectionist, he excels in both his studies and music. Blessed with exceptional natural talent, he also stands out for his relentless work ethic and his obsession with perfection.

Opposite him, Lee Jun-young plays Choi Jeong-yo, another piano prodigy whose story is far more painful. Haunted by a difficult childhood, he has spent much of his life rejecting his own talent and distancing himself from music.

However, Choi Jeong-yo’s arrival at the art school will upset the balance for Kang Bi-oh, who had been considered the school’s top student until then.
A relationship that goes beyond rivalry
The new photos don't focus solely on their musical rivalry. The caption accompanying the photos describes «two young people discovering each other's worlds beyond the rehearsal rooms» and notes that, as the distance between them shrinks, they begin to understand each other better.
This development suggests a relationship far more complex than mere competition between two pianists. Friendship, admiration, rivalry, and mutual understanding are likely to intertwine throughout their journey as they grow up together and pursue their musical dreams.

The drama’s title, incidentally, refers to the «four-hands» technique, in which two pianists play simultaneously on the same piano—a symbol that seems to perfectly illustrate the relationship between Kang Bi-oh and Choi Jeong-yo.
«Four Hands, Two Sonatas» will air in August on tvN and is expected to be available on Netflix.
