Born on April 23, 1994, in Suwon, Song Kang (송강) is a South Korean actor and model who has become one of the leading figures of the new generation of K-dramas. After making his debut in 2017 in The Liar and His Lover then The Man Who Sets the Table, he has made a name for himself as the host of the music show Inkigayo, before landing his first major role.
His career took off in 2019 thanks to Love Alarm, Netflix's first original Korean series. Adapted from a hit webtoon, the romance has garnered immense international attention and made Song Kang one of the platform's new faces. He has cemented this popularity with Sweet Home, in which he plays Cha Hyun-soo, a young man facing a monstrous apocalypse. The series' global success earned him a nomination for Best New Actor at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
Nicknamed the «son of Netflix» because of his many productions for the platform, he went on to play one leading role after another in Navillera, Nevertheless, Forecasting Love and Weather and My Demon. With each project, he demonstrates his ability to shift from romance to fantasy drama while developing an increasingly commanding on-screen presence.
