Spoiler alert! Kang Pio spent years searching for Choi Jeong-yo after she went missing. Yet, when the two former friends finally come face to face nine years later in « Four Hands, Two Sonatas », the reunion is nothing like he could have imagined. New footage from Episode 7, which aired on September 19, shows a Lee Jun-young particularly hostile toward Song Kang, before turning his back on him.
«Four Hands, Two Sonatas» chronicles the friendship, emotions, rivalry, and journey of Kang Pio (Song Kang) and Choi Jeong-yo (Lee Jun-young), two piano prodigies who met at age 17 at an arts high school before going on to pursue professional careers.
But their story took a sudden turn when Jeong-yo was kidnapped just before his final performance in an international competition. For nine years, Pio had no real answers about what had happened to him.

Song Kang spent nine years haunted by her disappearance
Jeong-yo's disappearance didn't just end their relationship. It left a deep mark on Pio.
After losing all trace of his friend, he continued to to search for it relentlessly. When he later learned that Jeong-yo had died, his trauma became so severe that he even began to have hallucinations.
Nine years later, however, everything changes. Now that Pio is an adult, the man he thought he had lost suddenly reappears at a conducting competition. But Jeong-yo doesn't return exactly as he left: he now goes by a new name.

After such a long and mysterious disappearance, this reunion might seem like the moment Pio has been waiting for all these years. However, new footage from the next episode shows exactly the opposite.
Lee Jun-young turns his back on her when they meet again
The two men are about to meet at their old high school—the very same place where their relationship had begun nine years earlier. The atmosphere is immediately icy.
Jeong-yo looks at Pio with a overt hostility, while the latter seems to be torn by several conflicting emotions. After spending so much time trying to find his old friend, he now finds himself face to face with someone who seems determined to keep his distance.
The images finally show Jeong-yo turning his back on Pio and walking away, leaving him alone. Now we need to figure out what might have happened during those nine years to change their relationship so drastically.

The last time Pio had seen Jeong-yo, Jeong-yo had disappeared against his will. His return under a new identity and his unusually cold demeanor therefore suggest that a crucial part of his story remains to be discovered.

And this reunion could usher in a new phase for «Four Hands, Two Sonatas.» After chronicling the beginnings of their bond as teenagers and the pain caused by their separation, the drama will now have to show whether it's still possible to rebuild their relationship after nine years apart.
The next episode of «Four Hands, Two Sonatas» will air on September 19 at 9:10 p.m. (KST) on tvN and will be available later that day on Netflix in France.
