What if an album became a series? That's the premise of « Sound:Track » (literal title), KBS's 2026 Drama Special. The first poster reveals the anthology's «tracklist»: 8 songs, each of which inspired a TV movie and gives it its title. Premieres November 18.
A Tradition Unique to Korea
For 42 years, KBS has been the only Korean network to uphold the tradition of single-episode TV movies. Every year, its «Drama Specials» feature short, standalone stories that are often more intimate than traditional series.
For this edition, the channel starts with a simple idea: «that song» that everyone has come across at least once in their life, and the emotions associated with it.
A poster shaped like a playlist
On the poster is a simple handwritten note, like a reading list scribbled by hand. It lists the eight titles in the anthology, which are also the titles of the songs that inspired them:
- You Are More Than the Scent of Spring
- After the Play Ends
- When My Loneliness Calls You
- Bye, Summer
- Reminiscence
- Chronicles
- Lie, Lie, Lie
- Autumn Morning
Like the tracks on a single album, these eight standalone stories form a cohesive whole. Each of these songs will also serve as the soundtrack for the episode it inspired.

All Genres Combined
While music serves as the common thread, the genres vary from episode to episode: romance, mystery, fantasy, coming-of-age stories, and even historical drama. Each story has its own time period, setting, and cast, but all offer, in one hour, their own take on universal emotions: love, heartbreak, and growing up.
The production team explains that some stories extend the emotional impact of the original song, while others explore it from a completely different angle.
Part of the cast has been revealed
As a reminder, the first TV movie, «You More Than the Scent of Spring,» will star Woo Davi and Kim Hyun-jin, in the story of a singer paralyzed by stage fright after her cat’s death. The second, «After the Play Ends,» will follow Pyo Ye-jin as a director transferred to a children’s TV show, alongside Lee Ki-taek.
Joo Jong-hyuk is also part of the announced cast, though it is not yet known in which episode he will appear.
The Broadcast Schedule
The eight TV movies will air back-to-back every Wednesday at 9:50 p.m. and every Thursday at 10:00 p.m. (Korean time), which is 1:50 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. in France:
- November 18 and 19 : Episodes 1 and 2
- November 25 and 26 : Episodes 3 and 4
- December 2 and 3 : Episodes 5 and 6
