Four characters, four beliefs. tvN unveils new character posters for « GIFT », all centered around one concept: «The Courage to Take a Chance.» Each story highlights what its hero believes in—or what he no longer believes in. This sets the stage for the debates that will shake up the Deokcheon High School baseball team.

Kim Woo-bin, the Disillusioned Coach

On his poster, Jung Min-yong (Kim Woo-bin) is wearing a cap pulled down over his forehead and is looking straight ahead, looking relaxed. But his slogan betrays a deep disillusionment: he no longer believes in the grand rhetoric about hard work and passion for the game.

This cynicism stems from his background. A former pitching coach for a professional team, he saw his career come crashing down after false accusations, followed by a car accident. An accident that left him with a strange gift: the ability to recognize each player's talent at a glance.

Seo Eun-soo, the heart of the team

Across from him, Yoon Seo-jin (Seo Eun-soo), a physical education teacher and head of the baseball program, tosses a ball with a determined look on her face. For her, what keeps a team together is heart. Team spirit matters just as much as winning.

A vision that is the polar opposite of that of the new coach, who swears by results.

Hard Work vs. Talent

The two players highlighted here also embody two opposing visions.

Heo Seung-il, the captain played by Cha Been, with a baseball glove in his hand, vows to work even harder. For him, hard work always pays off in the end.

Cha Tae-hoon, played by Han Si-hyun, is the complete opposite: a baseball novice, yet one with exceptional talent. With a mischievous smile, he innocently wonders if all he has to do is throw the ball «like this.».

A contrast that echoes the series’ central dilemma: How much is hard work worth compared to natural talent—especially when you have the ability to spot that talent in a second?

Real former players

What makes this cast unique is that both Cha Been and Han Si-hyun played baseball in school. Their experience should lend real authenticity to the game scenes. The production promises to follow the passionate journey of this team, as four people with different beliefs learn to play together, compete against one another, and grow.
