A K-drama star who flatly refuses to kiss her on-screen co-stars and an heiress who’s convinced she’s the heroine of her favorite series: « Oh! My Guard »promises a romance as unlikely as it is eventful!"

With just a few days to go before its premiere, scheduled for October 24, 2026, the new romantic comedy starring CNBLUE's Jung Yong-hwa and Hong Seung-hee has unveiled new stills and a third teaser.

Between embarrassing secrets, action scenes, and an unexpected declaration of love, the two characters seem determined to turn the romance genre on its head.

Jung Yong-hwa plays a romance star who refuses to kiss his co-stars

In «Oh! My Guard,» Jung Yong-hwa plays Uhm Tae-bong, an extremely popular actor who is considered a true icon in romantic dramas.

But behind his image as a specialist in love stories lies a quirk that is surprising, to say the least: he absolutely refuses to film kissing scenes.

The new teaser opens with this unusual rule. As reporters ask him about the possibility of kissing scenes in his next project, the footage shows Tae-bong abruptly halting a scene just as his face touches his co-star’s.

He immediately demanded that the scene be stopped and reiterated his categorical refusal to kiss an actress on screen. Paradoxically, this quirk did not prevent him from becoming a huge star. On the contrary, he built a reputation as a master of romance who never shoots kissing scenes.

But his daily life is about to be turned upside down when a young woman discovers his secret and decides to meddle in his life.

Hong Seung-hee plays two completely opposite characters

Hong Seung-hee plays Oh Hae-ra, a wealthy heiress from a chaebol family.

Shy, timid, and long cut off from the outside world, the young woman grew up in a particularly isolated environment. Television became her main source of companionship, and she developed a deep attachment to her favorite actor: Uhm Tae-bong.

In particular, she admires his character in the fictional drama «The Crown Prince’s Bodyguard.» But everything changes when she is hit by a car.

When she wakes up, Hae-ra is now convinced that she is Cha Hong-doo, the heroine of this drama—a brave, energetic bodyguard who is exceptionally skilled in combat. The transformation is spectacular. Whereas Oh Hae-ra was previously a shy young woman who was easily frightened, she has now taken on Cha Hong-doo’s fearless personality.

Convinced of her new identity, she decides to devote her life to protecting Uhm Tae-bong, as if she had truly become the bodyguard of her favorite character. For Hong Seung-hee, this role therefore presents a real acting challenge.

The actress worked on the costumes, hairstyles, facial expressions, and manner of speaking to clearly distinguish between the two personalities. She also trained at an action school to perform her character’s fight scenes.

When asked why she decided to take on this drama, Hong Seung-hee explained that she is a big fan of romantic comedies. She was drawn to its cheerful atmosphere, its original concept, and a plot that left her eager to find out what happened next.
