Park Ki-woong is a South Korean actor and painter born on February 13, 1985, in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province. Active in the entertainment industry since 2004, he first gained recognition through music videos and a commercial that became popular in South Korea, before going on to build a career in film and television.
He began acting in 2005 and landed his first major film role in the romantic comedy My Tutor Friend 2 in 2007. In 2009, his portrayal of Ahn Kyung-tae in The Slingshot (A Man’s Story), a young man with a particular talent for financial analysis, brought him significant recognition.
Park Ki-woong went on to distinguish himself by playing very different characters. In particular, he played Dorgon in the historical film War of the Arrows in 2011. In 2012, he played one of his most memorable roles alongside Kimura Shunji in Bridal Mask, in which he stars alongside Joo Won and Jin Se-yeon. That same year, he also played one of the lead roles in Full House: Take 2. In 2013, he played the North Korean spy Lee Hae-rang in the blockbuster movie Secretly, Greatly.
He then put his career on hold to complete his mandatory military service. He enlisted on May 8, 2014, and, after completing his initial training, served as a police officer for 21 months. Upon his return, he resumed his career with the drama Monster in 2016, in which he plays Do Gun-woo.
In 2018, he appeared in the thriller Return and also plays Baek In-ho in the film adaptation of Cheese in the Trap. In 2019, he played Crown Prince Yi Jin in the historical drama Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung. He continues with Kkondae Intern in 2020, then You Raise Me Up in 2021. That same year, he made a cameo appearance in The King's Affection.
In 2023, Park Ki-woong plays Jang Do-jin in Pandora: Beneath the Paradise and Seo Jae-hee in the fantasy-romance series My Man Is Cupid. It also appears in A Time Called You. After an appearance in Nightly Photo Studio In 2024, he will play in 2025 in Thirty. In 2026, he reunites with Jin Se-yeon, his partner from Bridal Mask, in the family drama Recipe for Love, in which he plays Yang Hyun-bin.
Alongside his acting career, Park Ki-woong has been pursuing an artistic career. In 2021, he officially made his debut as painter, adding this activity to his career in entertainment.
