Rowoon (로운; real name: Kim Seok-woo, 김석우; 金錫佑) is a South Korean actor, singer, and model born on August 7, 1996, in Seoul. He began his career in the entertainment industry as a trainee at FNC Entertainment before making his debut in 2016 as a member of the boy band SF9. Alongside his musical pursuits, he quickly launched an acting career, making numerous appearances in several TV series.
After appearing in supporting roles in School 2017, About Time and Where Stars Land, he had his first major success in 2019 thanks to Extraordinary You. His portrayal of Haru, a romantic and mysterious character, brought him to the attention of the general public and earned him the Best New Actor award at the MBC Drama Awards.
He then cemented his rise with She Would Never Know, before winning over an international audience in the historical drama The King's Affection, alongside Park Eun-bin. In 2022, he played the lead role in Tomorrow, and then moves on to the fantasy romance Destined with You (The Book of Our Destiny) in 2023. That same year, he officially left SF9 to devote himself fully to his acting career, while remaining under contract with FNC Entertainment.
In 2025, he returns in a dark historical drama The Murky Stream, in which he plays Jang Si-yul, a man drawn into the underworld of Joseon. He also makes several notable appearances in The Confidence Man KR and Spring of Youth.
Thanks to his charisma, natural elegance, and steady growth as an actor, Rowoon has established himself as one of the most popular actors of his generation and one of the rising stars of the Hallyu wave.
