Yuna is a South Korean singer, dancer, rapper, model, and actress born on December 9, 2003, in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. Her real name is Shin Yu-na, and she is best known as a member of the girl group ITZY, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2019.
In her youth, she played floorball at a competitive level and represented Gyeonggi Province in national tournaments. Spotted by JYP Entertainment in 2016 at a music festival, she joined the agency as a trainee. Before her debut, she appeared in 2017 on the show Stray Kids alongside several future members of ITZY, as well as in a video project related to BTS. She graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School in 2022.
Yuna officially debuted with ITZY in February 2019 with the single It's Different and its lead single, «Dalla Dalla.» She quickly became one of the group’s most prominent members. Her solo performances also drew attention, notably her cover of Lee Hyori’s «U-Go-Girl» at the 2022 KBS Song Festival and her cover of Jennie’s «You & Me» at the 2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon. Her first solo single, «Yet, but,» appears on the album Born to Be.
Starting in 2025, she began pursuing an acting career at the same time. She landed her first dramatic role in Undercover Miss Hong, which aired in 2026, in which she plays Hong Jang-mi, the heroine’s younger sister. She then appeared in the romance My Bias, My Boss in the role of actress Yun Cho-i.
In March 2026, Yuna also launched her solo music career with the EP Ice Cream, including «Hyper Dream,» «Blue Maze,» «B-Boy,» and the title track «Ice Cream.».
A prominent figure in the fashion world, she collaborates with several brands and participates in Paris Fashion Week, among other events. She continues to juggle her work with ITZY, her solo career, modeling, and acting.
