Jeong Woo-seong (정우성) is a South Korean actor, director, and producer born in 1973 in Seoul. After starting out as a model, he began his acting career in 1994 with the fantasy film The Fox with Nine Tails. His popularity took off a few years later thanks to Beat (1997), which helped cement his image as a charismatic young leading man, before he established himself in film with City of the Rising Sun, Musa and especially melodrama A Moment to Remember in 2004.
Although his career is primarily associated with the big screen, Jeong Woo-seong has also had several memorable roles in TV dramas. After Asphalt Man In the 1990s, he returned to television with the spy thriller Athena: Goddess of War in 2010. The following year, he changed gears with Padam Padam, in which he plays Yang Kang-chul, a man trying to rebuild his life after a long prison sentence.
After several years spent primarily in film, he landed his first romantic leading role in Tell Me That You Love Me in 2023. In it, he plays Cha Jin-woo, a deaf artist who communicates primarily through sign language, opposite Shin Hyun-been. This drama marks a notable return to a more intimate and melodramatic style.
At the same time, the actor has an exceptionally extensive filmography, including The Good, the Bad, the Weird, Cold Eyes, The Divine Move, Steel Rain, Innocent Witness, Hunt or even 12.12: The Day. He also steps behind the camera with A Man of Reason. In 2025, Jeong Woo-seong returns to television dramas in Made in Korea, in which he plays Jang Geon-young, before reprising the role in Season 2 in 2026.
