Jo Jeong-seok (조정석) is a South Korean actor born on December 26, 1980, in Seoul. Active in both film and television, he has made a name for himself thanks to his ability to switch between comedy and drama, while regularly taking on leading roles.
He made his television debut with What's Up? in 2011, before gaining further recognition in The King 2 Hearts in 2012. The following year, he landed the lead role of Shin Joon-ho in You're the Best, Lee Soon-shin. His popularity skyrocketed in 2015 when he played Chef Kang Seon-woo in the romantic comedy Oh My Ghostess.
In 2016, he continued with Don't Dare to Dream, in which he plays Lee Hwa-sin, and makes a cameo appearance in The Legend of the Blue Sea. He then plays the dual central role of Cha Dong-tak in Two Cops in 2017, then returns to a historical theme with The Nokdu Flower in 2019.
One of his most iconic characters remains Lee Ik-jun, a surgeon and member of the group of friends at the center of Hospital Playlist in 2020 and Hospital Playlist 2 in 2021. He briefly reprised the role in 2025 during an appearance in Resident Playbook.
In 2024, Jo Jeong-seok returns to the spotlight in a historical drama The Schemer and the King, in which he plays the lead role. In 2025, he made numerous guest appearances, notably in When the Stars Gossip and Weak Hero Season 2, in which he plays Choi Chang-hui.
At the same time, he has had a successful film career, with movies such as Architecture 101, My Love, My Bride, Brother, Exit and, in 2025, My Daughter Is a Zombie. He has also been announced as the lead in the drama Paper Man, in which he will play the role of Cha Myeong-jo.
