Park Hae-soo (박해수), born on November 21, 1981, in Suwon, is a South Korean actor who began his career in theater before making a name for himself in K-dramas and on Netflix. After several years on stage, he appeared notably in God of War, Six Flying Dragons and The Legend of the Blue Sea.
His real turning point came in 2017 with Prison Playbook. In it, he plays Kim Je-hyuk, a famous baseball player who is sent to prison after defending his sister. The drama's success introduced the general public to his understated acting style and his ability to blend humor, emotion, and tension.
He gained worldwide fame in 2021 thanks to Squid Game, in which he plays Cho Sang-woo, Player 218 and Seong Gi-hun’s childhood friend. This complex character, torn between ambition and guilt, remains one of the series’ most memorable roles. Park Hae-soo then went on to star in the thriller Chimera, and then becomes Berlin in Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area in 2022. That same year, he also starred in Narco-Saints.
With a strong presence on Netflix, he continues with Karma *In 2025*, a crime thriller in which several lives intertwine around a series of irreversible choices. He also joins The Price of Confession, alongside Jeon Do-yeon and Kim Go-eun, followed by the disaster and science fiction film The Great Flood starring Kim Da-mi.
In film, his filmography also includes Time to Hunt, Yaksha: Ruthless Operations, Phantom and Good News.
In 2026, Park Hae-soo returns to the thriller genre with The Scarecrow, in which he plays Kang Tae-joo in an investigation into a series of murders. His announced projects also include The Great Ok Sook for 2027, as well as Paper Man and the movie Adenman.
