Wi Ha-joon (Wi Ha-joon) is a South Korean actor and model born on August 5, 1991, in Wando County, South Korea. After studying theater and film at Sungkyul University, he made his screen debut in 2012 with the short film Peace in Them. His early years were marked by small roles in films such as Coin Locker Girl (2015), Cutter (2016) and The Chase (2017).
He began to gain visibility on television with Goodbye, Mr. Black (2016), then My Golden Life (2017–2018). In 2018, he appeared in Something in the Rain and Marital Chaos, while landing a major role in the horror movie Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum. The following year, Romance Is a Bonus Book allows him to establish himself in a leading role, before 18 Again in 2020.
His career took on an international dimension in 2021 thanks to Squid Game. In it, he plays Hwang Jun-ho, a police officer who goes undercover in the gambling ring to find his brother. The series’ global success greatly boosted his fame. That same year, he played a serial killer in Midnight and a mixed martial arts fighter in Shark: The Beginning. He then continues with Bad and Crazy, in which he plays K, an impulsive and flamboyant character.
In 2022, he played one of the leading roles in Little Women as the mysterious Choi Do-il. In 2023, he plays crime boss Jung Gi-cheol in The Worst of Evil, a darker role that underscores his versatility. He also appears in Gyeongseong Creature.
In 2024, he switched gears with a romance Midnight Romance at the Hagwon, in which he plays Lee Jun-ho, a former student who has become a teacher. At the same time, he reprises his role as Hwang Jun-ho in Squid Game Season 2, then in Season 3 in 2025. In 2026, he returns in a leading role in The Mermaid's Kiss. His career is thus characterized by a regular alternation between thrillers, action films, romances, and morally ambiguous characters.
