Lee Yoo-mi (이유미) is a South Korean actress born on July 18, 1994, in Seoul. She began her career in 2010 with an appearance in the thriller The Murderer, before going on to play numerous small roles in film and television.
During the 2010s, she appeared notably in the following films The Russian Novel, Hwayi, Rough Play, Park Hwa-young and Hostage: Missing Celebrity. On television, she gradually began to make a name for herself in Welcome to Waikiki, Just Dance, Doctor John, 365: Repeat the Year and My Holo Love.
Her career took on an international dimension in 2021 when she played Ji-yeong, Player 240, in the Netflix series Squid Game. Despite her relatively limited screen time, her character leaves a strong impression on viewers. This performance earned her the 2022 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, making her the first South Korean actress to receive this award.
She reaffirmed her popularity in 2022 with All of Us Are Dead, in which she plays Lee Na-yeon, a high school student with a particularly rebellious attitude. That same year, she landed the lead role of Cha Ga-eul in Mental Coach Jegal.
In 2023, Lee Yoo-mi plays the title role in Strong Girl Nam-soon, in which she plays Gang Nam-soon, a young woman with supernatural powers. She goes on to star in Mr. Plankton in 2024, in which she plays Jo Jae-mi alongside Woo Do-hwan.
In 2025, she appears in the Netflix thriller As You Stood By, playing the role of Hui-su. The series continues to shift toward darker, more dramatic characters after several roles with strong comedic or fantastical elements.
Alongside her success on television, Lee Yoo-mi continues to work in film. Her performance in Hostage: Missing Celebrity This has earned her, among other things, the title of Best New Actress from the magazine Cine21.
Thanks to Squid Game, All of Us Are Dead, Strong Girl Nam-soon and Mr. Plankton, she has established herself as one of the most recognizable South Korean actresses of her generation on the international stage.
