Shin Se-kyung (신세경) is a South Korean actress, singer, and model born on July 29, 1990, in Seoul. She began her career at a very young age, first as a child model, before turning to acting. She has appeared notably in the series The Land and in the movie My Little Bride in 2004.
She gained widespread recognition in 2009 thanks to the sitcom High Kick Through the Roof, in which she plays a character with her own name. That same year, she played the young Princess Cheon-myeong in The Great Queen Seondeok.
In the early 2010s, Shin Se-kyung cemented her status as a leading actress with Tree With Deep Roots in 2011, in which she plays So-yi. She went on to star in Fashion King in 2012 and When a Man Loves in 2013. In 2015, she played the role of Oh Cho-rim in the fantasy romance A Girl Who Sees Smells, and then Boon-yi's role in the historical drama Six Flying Dragons. These two performances earned him several awards at the SBS Drama Awards.
She then continues with The Bride of Habaek in 2017, then Black Knight: The Man Who Protects Me. In 2019, she played the historian Goo Hae-ryung in Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung, a role that earned her the Best Actress award at the MBC Drama Awards. She went on to star in Run On in 2020, in which she plays the translator Oh Mi-joo.
In 2023, Shin Se-kyung will reprise the role of Tanya in Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun. The following year, she played the female lead in Captivating the King, in which she plays Kang Hee-soo.
On the big screen, she appears in Hindsight, R2B: Return to Base, Tazza: The Hidden Card and The Preparation. In 2026, she played Chae Seon-hwa in the spy movie Humint. This performance earned her the Baeksang Arts Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Thanks to a career that began in childhood and a wide range of roles in romance, thrillers, and historical dramas, Shin Se-kyung has established herself as a leading actress in South Korean television and film.
