«Love Virus» will tell the story of a couple who seem to have everything they need to be happy.

Both of them have celebrity-like looks, successful careers, comfortable incomes, and have been in a stable relationship for nine years. Yet as their wedding approaches, they make an unexpected decision. To ensure they have no regrets before making a permanent commitment, they decide to take a sort of «break» and date other people.

A decision that will obviously challenge their feelings and their view of love.

A couple who seemed to have everything they needed to be happy

Jung Hae-in will play the role of Ha Do-woon, a talented lawyer and Kang Chae-rin’s longtime boyfriend. As the only son of a wealthy family, he seems to have it all: handsome, professionally competent, and athletic; above all, he is described as a man who is used to achieving the goals he sets for himself.

Shin Se-kyung will star opposite him Kang Chae-rin, a dentist who has been his partner for 9 years. Noted for her beauty since her school days, she has built what appears to be an ideal life, with a successful career, a stable relationship, and a good work-life balance.

But she begins to feel that something is missing. Chae-rin gradually starts to question a life that ultimately took only one path, including emotionally.

After nine years together, Do-woon and Chae-rin had naturally reached the point where marriage seemed like the next step. But because they had been the first and only partners who are in love with each other, they decided to put their relationship on hold for a while.

Take a break before the wedding to avoid regrets

For a set period of time, each person will therefore be free to see other people. This experiment is intended to eliminate any curiosity about what they have never experienced before making a permanent commitment to one another.

Of course, this «break time» is likely to disrupt the comfortable balance they’ve built over nearly a decade. The drama will thus explore the changes these two characters undergo when they step outside the safety of their familiar relationship for the first time.

The series will be directed by Kim Seok-yoon, known for several highly acclaimed dramas such as The Light in Your Eyes and My Liberation Notes. «Love Virus» will mark the very first collaboration between Jung Hae-in and Shin Sae-kyeong. The series is scheduled to air on TVING sometime in 2027.
