The Final Table

The Final Table will feature a competition ("The table: K chef 2026") where top Korean chefs from around the world come together to prepare a feast of exceptional dishes to select the best Korean chef.

Ahn Hyo-seop will play Kang Han, a Korean chef living abroad. After an unexpected turn of events, he decides to enter this prestigious culinary competition as a representative of the Familia restaurant. He’ll face numerous competitors determined to win the title, including Cha Woo-jin, played by Chang Ryul.

Considered a culinary prodigy from a very young age, Cha Woo-jin is a perfectionist chef who thinks only of winning. His rivalry with Kang Han is expected to be one of the drama’s main driving forces. Beyond the kitchen, «Final Table» will also explore the characters’ personal relationships and emotional wounds.

Hong Hwa-yeon will play Choi Song-yi, the manager of the Familia restaurant. After her father goes missing, she tries to protect the family business—until she meets Kang Han, who could change her future.

Song-yi lost her mother when she was still young and grew up with her father, a renowned chef, with whom she runs the family restaurant, Familia. But while cooking has always been a part of her daily life, she isn’t the one in the kitchen.

Song-yi works as a floor manager. She greets customers, oversees service, and ensures the restaurant runs smoothly. She doesn’t yet have any real experience as a cook. That doesn’t stop her from being passionate about food and, above all, from being her father’s biggest fan when it comes to his cooking. However, that balance is shattered when a terrible event strikes her family.

Her father dies following an incident that also destroyed her reputation. Song-yi is left with a restaurant on the verge of closing and the feeling that her father’s legacy might disappear along with him. So she decides to take what seems like her last chance to save Familia: participating in «The Table: K-Chef 2026.».

A single defeat that Chang Ryul has never forgotten

Woo-jin is the head of the Exception Restaurant, considered the best contemporary restaurant in Korea and backed by the Pyungyeon Group, the leading company in the restaurant industry. A culinary prodigy since childhood, he has immense confidence in his abilities and takes defeat particularly hard.

His perfectionism doesn’t stop at the stove, by the way. Woo-jin organizes both his work and his daily life according to precise routines and expects the same level of rigor when managing his kitchen and staff. Every action and every preparation must meet his standards. For a long time, this high standard allowed him to remain at the top. But one event continues to haunt him: in a past culinary competition, Woo-jin finished only second. For the first time, someone had managed to beat him.

Even more frustrating for him was that the person responsible for that defeat remained anonymous. So Woo-jin was never really able to get his revenge.

The situation changes when he discovers that the chef who had once defeated him plans to compete on «The Table: K-Chef 2026.» This news is enough to convince Woo-jin to enter the competition as well. His goal then becomes very personal: to find his former rival and face him once again, hoping to prove that his second-place finish was just a fluke.

Jung Yoo-jin plays the role of Seon Jung-won, executive producer at Pyungyeon Media. Nicknamed the «Midas touch» of the entertainment industry, she quickly rose through the ranks thanks to the success of each of her shows. Always on the lookout for the next concept that will captivate audiences, she is the one who comes up with «The Table: K-Chef 2026», a competition to determine the best Korean chef.

Deeply committed to her project, Jung-won oversees everything from its design to the recruitment of contestants, even traveling throughout Korea and abroad to find the chefs who will participate in the competition. It was during this search that she met Kang Han (Ahn Hyo-seop) at a restaurant. Intrigued by this mysterious chef, whose identity remains a mystery, she begins to take a keen interest in him.

One of the unique features of «Final Table» will be its hybrid format. The production team had previously explained that the competition would be staged like a real cooking show, giving viewers the impression that they are watching both a survival show and a drama.

Jang Young-nam is counting on the competition to save Pyungyeon Group

Jang Young-nam plays the role of Moon Hae-sun, President of Pyungyeon Group. As an only child at the time of her birth, she was groomed from a very early age to take over the family business.

Her interest in gastronomy dates back, in particular, to her time studying abroad, when a classmate asked her what «the best cuisine in Korea» was. Thanks to her business acumen, she went on to build Pyungyeon Group into the leading restaurant chain in Korea. But an incident—the nature of which remains a secret—is now threatening both the group and her own position.

Hae-sun then accepts the proposal from Seon Jeong-won (Jung Eugene), executive producer at Pyungyeon Media: to launch «The Table: K-Chef 2026», a competition featuring talented Korean chefs from around the world.

Her decision is primarily strategic. She hopes to make the show a success, restore the group’s tarnished image, and maintain its position as the industry leader.

Cha Ji-yeon wants to use the same show to oust her sister

But her half-sister Baek Hyun-joo (Cha Ji-yeon) sees this crisis as a completely different opportunity. Thanks to her political acumen and ability to make quick decisions, Hyun-joo has become CEO of Pyungyeon Media, a subsidiary of the family-owned group.

Outgoing, drawn to luxury, and leading a particularly glamorous life, she gives the outward impression of following in her older sister’s footsteps. In reality, She secretly covets her position as president. And «The Table: K-Chef 2026» could provide her with exactly the opportunity she’s been waiting for.

While Hae-sun wants to use the show to consolidate the Pyungyeon Group and secure her position, Hyun-joo plans to take advantage of the same show to strengthen her own power and push her half-sister out.
