«Between Steps» will thus tell their love story, but also how two people who have lost the path they thought they were following will gradually discover a new one.

«Between Steps» is one of the late director Ahn Pan-seok’s final projects; he was the director behind several popular romantic dramas, such as «Something in the Rain,» «One Spring Night,» and «The Midnight Romance in Hagwon.».

Everything seemed to be going well for Im Yoo-jin

Yoo-jin, a student in the field of apparel and textiles, is very serious about her studies. In the first photo, she stands in front of her closet in a room filled with fabrics, carefully selecting an outfit. Another photo shows her intently reviewing a college assignment.

Far from being a struggling student, Yoo-jin is one of the top students in her department. Her future therefore seems to be on a relatively clear path as she nears the end of her studies. But a third image stands in stark contrast to this apparent tranquility.

Usually lively and direct, Yoo-jin seems tense this time, clearly trying to hold back her emotions in the face of a situation she hadn't anticipated. It is this event that will throw her plans into disarray.

The exact circumstances of the incident remain a mystery for now. Its consequences, however, are much clearer. Yoo-jin suddenly finds herself labeled a «troublemaker» within her department. Her reputation takes a hit, and her chances of pursuing graduate studies in her field all but vanish. It is precisely when she loses her way that she meets Park Min-jae.

Park Hyuk-kwon and Seo Jeong-yeon are Kim So-hyun's parents

Park Hyuk-kwon played by Im Yong-seok, the father. Hardworking and caring, he heads the Jeil Car Center, an auto repair shop where several family members work.

At his side, Seo Jeong-yeon Seo Mi-young plays Yoo-jin’s mother. Diligent and conscientious, she handles the bookkeeping for the family’s auto repair shop. The couple doesn’t lead a particularly comfortable life, but their children are their greatest source of pride.

Kim Min-seok plays Im Yoo-sung, who is just a year older than her. He also works at the Jeil Car Center as a mechanic, but his carefree and sometimes immature personality contrasts with his sister’s. The scenes offer a very vivid glimpse into their relationship: Yoo-sung and Yoo-jin can even go so far as to pull each other’s hair when they argue.
