Just a few weeks ago, Min-jae (Choo Young-woo), a former swimmer who had his right leg amputated, and Yoo-jin (Kim So-hyun), a student searching for a new path in life, promised each other they would stay together until the very end. Despite minor arguments and the awkward encounter with Min-jae’s mother, Episode 6 even gave fans A long-awaited first «I love you».
A Smile for Another
The first surprise comes at the airport. After a year apart, Yoo-jin is waiting for someone in the arrivals area, holding a sketchbook in which she has written that she’s been waiting for him for what feels like an eternity. But it’s not Min-jae she greets with a big smile.
This is Lee Ji-hoon, played by Jang In-sub. And clearly, he’s already used to the young woman’s spontaneous outbursts. The natural chemistry between them suggests that their relationship has evolved over the past year.
A Chilly Reunion
The contrast is striking when Yoo-jin and Min-jae meet again. Other images show them face to face in a restaurant, one year later. The glances they exchange betray an obvious unease: they even struggle to look each other in the eye.
What did they say to each other? And most importantly, what happened between them over the course of the seasons? Episode 9 is finally set to shed light on that missing year.
The show promises a reunion marked by a mix of complex emotions. The two characters will be shaken once again as their misunderstandings deepen and their paths never seem to cross at the right moment.
