Born on April 1, 1988, in Seoul, Jung Hae-in is a South Korean actor known for his natural charm, his sensitive acting style, and his ability to portray both touching romantic roles and darker characters. Coming from a family of doctors, he is also a descendant of Jeong Yak-yong, a famous thinker of the Joseon Dynasty.
After studying entertainment at Pyeongtaek University and completing his military service, he began his acting career relatively late in life. He first appeared in the music video MOYA from the group AOA in 2013, before her first leading roles in Bride of the Century and the movie The Youth in 2014.
After several supporting roles, Jung Hae-in caught the public’s attention with his standout appearance in Goblin (2016), and then demonstrated his talent with While You Were Sleeping and above all Prison Playbook (2017), in which his intense portrayal of an army captain left a lasting impression.
He landed his first major romantic role in 2018 in Something in the Rain alongside Son Ye-jin, in a drama that catapulted him to stardom as one of Hallyu's leading actors. He went on to star in One Spring Night (2019), A Piece of Your Mind (2020) and the historical melodrama Snowdrop (2021–2022) with Jisoo of BLACKPINK.
The actor then reveals a darker side of himself in the Netflix series D.P. (2021–2023), a critically acclaimed series in which he plays a soldier tasked with tracking down army deserters. In 2024, he returned to romance with the international hit Love Next Door, before moving on to film with Veteran 2.
In 2026, Jung Hae-in remains one of the most beloved Korean actors, capable of seamlessly transitioning from romantic charm to the most intense roles. He can be seen on screen in the drama Our Sticky Love Released in August 2026 on Netflix.
