Biography

Ra Mi-ran (Rami Ran), born on March 6, 1975, is a South Korean actress known for her versatility in both film and television. Before appearing on camera, she worked in theater for several years. She made her film debut in 2005 in Lady Vengeance by Park Chan-wook.

Having long specialized in supporting roles, she began to attract more attention with Dance Town (2011) and Dancing Queen (2012). Her performance in Wish (2013) earned her, among other honors, the Best Supporting Actress award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. She went on to solidify her success with popular films such as Ode to My Father (2014), Himalayas (2015), The Last Princess (2016), Miss & Mrs. Cops (2019) and Honest Candidate (2020), in which she takes center stage this time. She reprises that role in Honest Candidate 2 in 2022.

On television, she became particularly popular thanks to Reply 1988 (2015), in which she plays Jung-hwan's mother. She then went on to play major roles in Avengers Social Club (2017), Black Dog (2019), The Good Bad Mother (2023), in which she plays Jin Young-soon, and then Jeongnyeon: A Star Is Born (2024).

At the same time, she is pursuing a very active career in film with A Citizen of a Kind (2024) and The Magnificent Five (Hi-Five, 2025). In 2025, she also plays one of the lead roles in the series To the Moon. Among its announced projects are Jeoncheondang Strange Sweets Shop and several new movies.

Throughout her career, Ra Mi-ran has received numerous awards, including at the Blue Dragon Film Awards and the Baeksang Arts Awards, establishing herself as one of South Korea’s most acclaimed character actresses.
