Kim Bum (김범), whose real name is Kim Sang-beom, is a South Korean actor, singer, and model born on July 7, 1989, in Seoul. He studied film and theater at Chung-Ang University and began his career as a teenager after appearing on the show Survival Star Audition.
He made his television debut in 2006 in Tough Women and Unstoppable High Kick. He then gained recognition for his portrayal of the young Lee Dong-cheol in East of Eden in 2008. His career took a major turn the following year with Boys Over Flowers, in which he plays So Yi-jung. The series' success made him popular in South Korea and several Asian countries.
Kim Bum continues to take on leading roles in Dream, The Woman Who Still Wants to Get Married and Padam Padam. In this latest series, he plays Lee Gook-soo, a mysterious character who claims to be an angel. In 2013, he appeared in That Winter, the Wind Blows and then in the historical drama Goddess of Fire.
He then broadened his range with the thriller Hidden Identity in 2015 and Mrs. Cop 2 in 2016. After completing his military service, which took place between April 2018 and March 2020, he returned to the screen in Tale of the Nine-Tailed, where his portrayal of Lee Rang has drawn particular attention.
He continues with Law School in 2021, playing the role of student Han Joon-hwi, and then in Ghost Doctor in 2022, in which he plays the young doctor Go Seung-tak. In 2023, he reprises the role of Lee Rang in Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938. He then makes an appearance in Wedding Impossible in 2024.
In 2026, Kim Bum plays one of the leading roles in Sold Out on You, also released under the French title Heart in Business. It is also announced in Hoegwihaetdeoni SSSgeup Uisa, in which he is set to play An Do-il.
On the big screen, he has appeared notably in Death Bell, Flight, Miracle, Detective Dee II: The Legend of the Sea Dragon and Detective K: Secret of the Living Dead. Thanks to his diverse career, Kim Bum has established himself as an actor capable of excelling in romance, fantasy, action, and drama.
