Lee Kyu-hyung (이규형) is a South Korean actor born on November 29, 1983. A graduate of Dongguk University with a degree in theater studies, he began his career on stage and first became a well-known musical theater actor before gaining widespread popularity on television.
He made his film debut in 2001 with a small role in Kick the Moon, and went on to appear in numerous films, plays, and musicals. His stage career has been marked by productions such as Laundry, Fan Letter, Cyrano, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, where he plays several characters during the same performance.
On television, he caught the public's attention in 2017 in Stranger, in which he plays District Attorney Yoon Se-won. That same year, his career took a decisive turn thanks to Prison Playbook. His portrayal of Yoo Han-yang, a drug-addicted heir whose behavior is as funny as it is tragic, brought him to the attention of the general public and became one of his most memorable roles.
He then demonstrates his versatility in Life, Doctor John and Hi Bye, Mama!, in which he plays Jo Gang-hwa, a surgeon confronted with the supernatural return of his deceased wife. In 2021, he took on a completely different role in Voice 4, playing the dangerous Dong Bang-min, and then appears in Happiness and Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?.
In 2022, he played Detective Song Jae-ik in All of Us Are Dead and plays one of the leading roles in May the Court Please. He continues with Uncle Samsik in 2024, followed by the comedy Kick Kick Kick Kick in 2025.
In 2026, Lee Kyu-hyung plays Detective Sun-yong in Like a rat. It is also announced in Voice 5, where he is set to reprise his unsettling role as Dong Bang-min.
