Ong Seong-wu (옹성우) is a South Korean singer and actor born on August 25, 1995, in Incheon. Before his debut, he trained in dance and was a member of several street dance and B-boy crews. His career really took off in 2017 when he appeared on the show Produce 101 Season 2. After placing fifth in the competition, he joined the group Wanna One, with which he quickly gained widespread popularity.
After Wanna One disbanded in 2019, Ong Seong-wu shifted his focus more toward a solo career and acting. He landed his first major role in At Eighteen, in which he plays Choi Jun-woo, a lonely high school student who transfers to a new school. His performance earned him several awards for best young actor and brought him his first major recognition in the world of TV dramas.
In 2020, he played the photographer Lee Soo in the romance More Than Friends, alongside Shin Ye-eun. He continued in 2021 with Shall I Have a Cup of Coffee?, in which he plays Kang Go-bi, a young man who is gradually discovering the world of coffee.
After completing his military service between April 2023 and October 2024, Ong Seong-wu is resuming his acting career. Before leaving for military service, he had notably played the role of Kang Hee-sik, a police officer, in Strong Girl Nam-soon in 2023.
In 2026, he made a cameo appearance in Boyfriend on Demand, in which he plays Bae Hyeon-woo, one of the virtual boyfriends offered to the heroine. He also returns to a leading role in Spooky in Love, in which he plays Kang Min-hwan.
Alongside his acting career, Ong Seong-wu is pursuing a solo music career. His first mini-album, Layers, was released in 2020, reaffirming his commitment to pursuing his careers as a singer and actor simultaneously.
