Born on December 23, 1992, in Anyang, Yang Se-jong is a South Korean actor who trained at the prestigious Korea National University of Arts. After a brief career as a model, he made his television debut in 2016 in Dr. Romantic, where his presence quickly draws attention.
The year 2017 marks a turning point. He goes on to Saimdang, Memoir of Colors, the science fiction thriller Duel, in which he impresses with his portrayal of three distinct characters, and then achieves true recognition with Temperature of Love. His role as Chef On Jung-seon earned him several Best New Actor awards, including the Baeksang Arts Award, and earned him the nickname «rookie sensation» in the industry.
He confirms his rise with Still 17, which won an award at the SBS Drama Awards, before taking a completely different direction with the historical drama My Country: The New Age. After taking a break to fulfill his military service, he made a highly acclaimed return in 2023 in the Netflix series Doona!, in which he stars alongside Bae Suzy.
In 2025, he once again demonstrated his versatility in Low Life (Pine), a crime drama set in the 1970s, in which his performance was praised by critics. The following year, he reprised the lead role in Chilling Romance (Spooky in Love), a fantasy romance in which he plays Ma Kang-wook, an exorcist who faces supernatural phenomena and an unexpected love story.
Capable of switching effortlessly between romance, thrillers, historical dramas, and fantasy, Yang Se-jong has established himself as one of the most talented actors of his generation.
