Keum Sae-rok (금새록) is a South Korean actress born on September 6, 1992, in Daegu. A graduate of the Seoul Institute of the Arts, she first began her career in advertising in 2011 before appearing in several short and feature films. Her early career was marked primarily by supporting roles in films, notably in Missing, Assassination, The Age of Shadows, The King, Believer and The Spy Gone North.
However, it was on television that she gained true recognition. After Shall We Live Together In 2018, she landed one of the lead roles in *[Title]* in 2019 The Fiery Priest. In it, she plays Seo Seung-ah, a young, energetic police officer whose outspoken personality fits perfectly with the series’ blend of action and comedy. The drama’s success played a major role in bringing her to the public’s attention. That same year, she played Ha So-hyun, a high school teacher caught up in a criminal investigation, in the school thriller Class of Lies.
In 2021, she changed gears with a historical melodrama Youth of May. In it, she plays Lee Soo-ryun, a student from a wealthy family who is involved in the democratic movements in Gwangju. Her character—torn between political convictions, family obligations, and loyalty to her loved ones—allows her to explore a more dramatic range.
She then returns to a contemporary setting in The Appeal of Love in 2022, in which she plays Park Mi-kyung, a privileged and self-assured bank employee whose romantic relationship gradually becomes more complicated. In 2023, she plays the lead role of Do Hyun-seo in Soundtrack #2, a romance centered on two former lovers who reunite several years after their breakup.
In 2024, Keum Sae-rok stars in the family drama Iron Family in the role of Lee Da-rim, a young woman with a visual impairment, confirming her ability to carry both long-running series and more intimate projects.
In 2026, she continued her evolution toward darker characters with Flower of Death, in which she plays Cha I-yeon opposite Ryeoun. She is also set to appear in Blue House People, playing the role of Ji-hyeon.
