Only 2 weeks left until we get a glimpse into the hell of odd jobs! Netflix has unveiled the main trailer for « Dead-End Job » («A Deadly Job» in French), his new drama blending horror, mystery, and fantasy. This video reveals a bit more about Hyeok-jun's descent into hell and hints at a subplot that makes us fear the worst for the hero played by Lee Jae-wook.

A salary too good to turn down

The trailer opens with a dejected Hyeok-jun, crushed by his debts and with no way out in sight. That’s when he comes across an ad for the mysterious Spider Staffing agency: assignments there pay anywhere from ten times the minimum wage to as much as fifty times the usual hourly rate.

From his very first mission, the young man senses that something is wrong. And very quickly, he finds himself trapped in a surreal nightmare that he is unable to explain.

Yet he keeps coming back. Again and again. The pay is too good for him to pass up, even though each new assignment seems to put his life at risk a little more.

Kim Min-ha, her sister is looking for her

That’s the big new twist in this trailer. Ji-yun (Kim Min-ha), Hyeok-jun’s younger sister—described as a pragmatic young woman with a strong personality—goes to the agency to question the boss, played by Lee Hee-joon. She wants to know one thing: did her brother work for them?

A scene that raises a troubling question: What happened to make Ji-yun go looking for her brother?

The boss’s response—heard in a voice-over against a backdrop of strange and deadly phenomena—is enough to make your blood run cold. As far as he’s concerned, there’s nothing nightmarish about it: it was just a little job—and actually, a pretty pleasant one at that.

Go Min-si, as mysterious as ever

Meanwhile, Yeon-ju (Go Min-si) continues to keep everyone guessing. In the video, she approaches Hyeok-jun with a cryptic question: isn't he curious to know what Spider Staffing actually does?

Is it mere curiosity, or a trap set for the young man? For now, his intentions remain unclear.

With this trailer, «Dead-End Job» reaffirms its ambition: to transform ordinary workplaces into scenes of horror, and to use job insecurity as the starting point for a true nightmare.
