After unveiling its first posters, « Dream to You »is stepping up a gear with the release of its very first video teaser. ENA offers a first glimpse of the dynamic between Woo Soo-bin and Joo Yi-jae, played by Hwang In-yeop and Hyeri.
Set to premiere in July, the series will tell the story of two first loves who reunite 15 years after going their separate ways. This new trailer highlights the bond that has united the two characters since their teenage years and offers a glimpse of a romance steeped in nostalgia.
A promise made in high school
The teaser begins several years before the main events of the drama, when Woo Soo-bin and Joo Yi-jae are still in high school.
At the time, Joo Yi-jae encouraged the young man to pursue his ambitions by saying, «Let’s make a movie together. » Those few words seem to have left a deep impression on Woo Soo-bin. Years later, he has become an internationally recognized director after winning numerous awards at prestigious film festivals.
Looking back on his journey, he says, «There was someone who gave a dream to an 18-year-old boy who had none.» But while his career has exceeded all his expectations, it quickly becomes clear that his true goal wasn’t just professional.
A reunion that makes hearts race
Fifteen years after they parted ways, Woo Soo-bin finally reunites with Joo Yi-jae, who is now a journalist. The young woman, who has given up her dream of becoming a director, seems surprised by this unexpected return. For his part, Woo Soo-bin wastes no time and immediately makes his intentions clear.
When he asks her point-blank, «Do you have a boyfriend?», Joo Yi-jae finds herself thrown off balance by her former first love’s confidence. Despite the reporter’s attempts to keep her distance, Woo Soo-bin continues to draw closer to her with a determination that promises plenty of romantic moments.
The teaser ends with a particularly symbolic moment. Woo Soo-bin shows Joo Yi-jae an old script they had written together when they were teenagers.
«I want to turn it into a movie, but it doesn’t have an ending. Let’s do it together,» he suggested.
This sentence suggests that the two characters might not only complete the project they started in their youth, but also write the final chapter of their own story together.
«Dream to You» will air starting July 13 on ENA (pending an international streaming platform).
