Ha Jeong-woo (Ha Jung-woo), born Kim Sung-hoon on March 11, 1978, in Seoul, is a South Korean actor, director, screenwriter, and producer. The son of actor Kim Yong-geon, he made his screen debut in the early 2000s and gained attention with The Unforgiven in 2005, and then Time by Kim Ki-duk in 2006.
He gained widespread recognition in 2008 thanks to The Chaser by Na Hong-jin, in which he plays the serial killer Ji Yeong-min. He reunites with the director for The Murderer in 2010, a role that earned him the Best Actor award at the Asian Film Awards in 2011.
He went on to play a series of major roles in a variety of genres: Nameless Gangster and Love Fiction in 2012, The Agent and The Terror Live in 2013, and then Kundo: Age of the Rampant. In 2016, he starred in Tunnel and in Miss by Park Chan-wook. He then played Gang Rim in Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds (2017) and its sequel The Last 49 Days (2018). His filmography also includes 1987: When the Day Comes, Take Point, Final Destruction, The Closet, Road to Boston and Hijacking.
Although he appears less frequently on television, he has appeared notably in Lovers in Prague (2005) and H.I.T. (2007). In 2022, he returned in a leading role in Narco-Saints, in which he plays Kang In-gu. In 2026, he plays the role of Ki Su-jong in Crazy Urban Dreams.
Ha Jeong-woo is also pursuing a career as a director. He directs and writes screenplays Fasten Your Seatbelt in 2013, and then produced Chronicle of a Blood Merchant. Among his most recent projects are Night Trip, Lobby, The People Upstairs and Hope, while Lunar Eclipse, Ordinary People and Inside Men: Prequel are among his announced projects.
