Kim Myung-soo (김명수), better known by his stage name L (엘), is a South Korean singer, dancer, and actor born on March 13, 1992, in Seoul. He rose to fame in 2010 when he joined the K-pop group INFINITE, where he became one of the lead vocalists and the «visual» member. He is also a member of the INFINITE F subunit.
Alongside his music career, Kim Myung-soo quickly began building a career as an actor. He made his debut in Japan in Jiu in 2011, and then appeared in South Korea in Shut Up: Flower Boy Band in 2012. He gradually began landing bigger roles with My Lovely Girl, One More Time and The Emperor: Owner of the Mask.
Starting in 2018, he increasingly established himself as a leading actor. He plays Judge Im Ba-reun in Miss Hammurabi, and then Kim Dan in the fantasy romance Angel's Last Mission: Love in 2019. He continues with Meow, the Secret Boy and historical drama New Secret Royal Inspector in 2020. After completing his military service, which took place between February 2021 and August 2022, he resumed his artistic activities.
In 2023, he returned to television with Numbers, in which he plays Jang Ho-woo. The following year, he played the lead role of Shin Yoon-bok in Dare to Love Me (Treat Me with Negligence) and appears as a detective in Perfect Family.
In 2026, he co-starred with Love in Sync alongside Kang Min-ah and actor Cha Eun-hwan. He has also been cast in the lead role of Myung Yeon-ju in The Garden of Harmony.
At the same time, Kim Myung-soo continues his career with INFINITE and his solo music projects. An avid photographer, he also published the following photography books in 2013: L's Bravo Viewtiful.
