«My Idol, My Debut» tells the story of a passionate fan who travels back eight years in time to prevent a tragic accident. In an attempt to change the course of events, she enters the world of K-pop by becoming a trainee at an agency.
Beyond its fantasy plot, the series stands out for a concept that is unprecedented in South Korea. The fictional groups Boy to the Moon and IRION, created for the show, won’t be confined to the screen. They will continue their journey in real life through actual music releases and live performances.
The Characters
With this project, Q from THE BOYZ lands his first leading role. He plays Han Jae-ha, a key member of the fictional group BOY TO THE MOON.
Opposite him, Hwang Ji-ah plays Choi Ae-ni, a fan willing to do anything to change her idol’s future. After traveling back in time, she becomes a member of the girl group IRION.
Lee Jin-hyuk plays Ethan, a Canadian member of BOY TO THE MOON with a cheerful disposition. His energy and sense of humor helped lighten the mood during the table read.
The scenes featuring the members of IRION also drew attention. Hwang Ji-ah, Nana from WOOAH, Kaede from tripleS, and AISA displayed a natural chemistry that made it feel like watching a real K-pop group.
