The fourth season of New Recruit is gearing up for its return! The first official cast photos have been released, offering a glimpse of the familiar faces returning to action, as well as the new recruits who will shake up the daily life of the famous military unit.

Based on the hit animated film of the same name, New Recruit is a dark comedy that follows the daily lives of young soldiers serving their mandatory military service in South Korea, amid camaraderie, the absurdities of barracks life, and hilarious situations.

A New Chapter for Park Min-seok

This fourth season will focus on the second half of the military service of Park Min-seok (Kim Min-ho). Now that he has been promoted to corporal, he hopes to finally enjoy a slightly more peaceful life.

But his hopes are quickly dashed by the arrival of new recruits who are as mysterious as they are unpredictable, as well as by the appointment of a new battalion commander who promises to shake up the entire unit’s routines.

Another highly anticipated plot point is the return of Choi Il-gu (Nam Tae-woo). After leaving his unit in tears last season, he returns this time as a non-commissioned officer.

For his part, Moon Bit-na-ri (Kim Yo-han) will now have to team up with a particularly promising young soldier.

Familiar faces and new characters

Most of the main cast is reprising their roles in this new season.

The cast includes Kim Dong-jun as Private Jeon Se-gye, who has become a true role model for his superiors; Oh Dae-hwan as Jo Baek-ho, who remains true to his reputation as the barracks« »human vitamin”; as well as Lee Sang-jin, Jo Jin-se, Lee Chung-goo, Jeon Seung-hoon, Kim Yo-han, and Lee Soo-ji.

Two new actors are also joining the cast. Lee Hyun-kyun will play Byun Hyuk-jin, the new battalion commander, who is determined to modernize the unit, while Lee Won-jung will play Kim Hyun-wook, a mysterious new recruit who already knows Park Min-seok from their military training.
