In a report aired by MBC on the program «Straight,» several pieces of evidence presented against the actor were called into question. According to information revealed by MBC, investigators believe that the KakaoTalk conversations released by Garosero have been tampered with.
The police reportedly concluded that the identity of the person involved in the exchanges had not been clearly established. Despite this, the screenshots were allegedly altered to make it appear as though they were conversations between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron.
The report also states that two Garosero employees have been identified as having participated in the editing of these images using graphic design software.

Another point raised by the program: the infamous audio recording presented as key evidence in the case.
Kim Se-ui, the founder of Garosero who is currently in custody, had stated on several occasions that the recording had been verified by the Korean National Forensic Service.
However, according to MBC, the agency reportedly concluded that it was impossible to authenticate the file, as it was not the original recording. The report thus claims that Kim Se-ui was aware of this conclusion when he continued to publicly present the document as having been validated by the relevant authorities.

The report also reveals the existence of an anonymous informant who reportedly contacted both Garosero and Kim Soo-hyun’s agency.
According to MBC, this individual allegedly demanded money in exchange for audio recordings. Surprisingly, he reportedly offered Garosero a version of events that supported the allegations against the actor, while providing his agency with evidence that contradicted those claims.
Conversations featured in the program include, in particular, financial requests and business proposals related to the distribution of this content.
Kim Soo-hyun's lawyer speaks out after the report aired
Shortly before the show aired, Kim Soo-hyun’s lawyer, Kho Sang Rok, posted a lengthy message explaining why he had agreed to participate in the MBC program. He stated that he had cooperated with the report by providing certain documents to the extent he deemed necessary, believing that the results of the investigation would now allow the truth to come to light.
According to him, Kim Se-ui’s arrest marks a turning point in the case, which is now in the hands of the prosecution and the courts. The lawyer also believes that this case goes far beyond a mere scandal involving celebrities:
«This issue is not merely a matter of entertainment. It is an important opportunity for our society to confront the problems associated with misinformation, manipulation, and the phenomenon of cyber-trolls,» he said.

A message for internet users
In his statement, the lawyer also referred to the personal attacks he claims to have been subjected to during this case. He explained that he had been subjected to insults, ridicule, and disinformation campaigns, yet continued to work on the case despite the media pressure.
