Kim Young-kwang and Lee Joo-myung are set to form a new on-screen duo! On September 30, the ENA production team officially confirmed their participation in « The Queen of Taming » (working title), a romantic comedy scheduled for release in the first half of 2027.
And their encounter promises to be particularly eventful: he is a formidable investment fund manager who has just acquired a zoo, while she works there as a contract veterinarian. Accustomed to calming even the wildest animals, the young woman will now have to deal with a man whose temperament might prove even more of a challenge.
Kim Young-kwang, a financial genius who knows nothing about love
Kim Young-kwang will play Ma Ji-yong, a hedge fund manager who operates at the very top of the financial world. Capable of handling astronomical sums of money, this man possesses an almost genius-level instinct when it comes to money and investments. But his success comes with a particularly difficult personality.
Always on his guard in a ruthless world dominated by powerful corporate dynasties, Ji-yong has learned to fight to get what he wants. Once he sets his sights on a goal, he can’t rest until he’s achieved it.
In fact, the production describes him as a man as ferocious as a wild beast.
There is, however, one area where all his intelligence and instincts are of no use to him: love. Despite his professional confidence, Ji-yong is a complete novice when it comes to matters of the heart—a contradiction that should serve as one of the series’ sources of humor.
Lee Joo-myung, a veterinarian who isn't afraid of any wild animal
Opposite him, Lee Ju-myoung will play Jo Woo-ri, a veterinarian working on contract at the zoo that Ji-yong has just acquired. Nicknamed the «queen of animal training,» Woo-ri has a special talent for calming animals and winning their trust. Even the most imposing creatures fail to intimidate her.
Her courage, however, is not limited to her work. With her strong personality and keen sense of justice, she also refuses to look the other way when faced with an unjust situation.
Her life will take an unexpected turn when she meets her new boss, whose behavior will remind her of the very wild animals she encounters every day.
«The Queen of Taming» will thus explore an unusual professional relationship between an employer accustomed to exercising power and an employee who has no intention of being intimidated. It remains to be seen which of the two will actually manage to tame the other.
The film will be directed by Song Hyun-wook, best known for «Would You Marry Me?».
«The Queen of Taming» is scheduled to air in the first half of 2027 on ENA, as part of the Monday-Tuesday drama lineup. No specific air date has been announced yet.
