Doctor X

Doctor X is a dark medical drama whose story centers on a genius surgeon who has gone into exile because of a dark past, and who fearlessly confronts a corrupt world relying solely on her uncommon surgical skills.

Kim Ji-won plays Gye Su-jeong, a genius surgeon sent to reinforce the surgical department of Guseo University Hospital via the temporary doctors' agency run by Jang Hee-suk. In the operating room, Gye Su-jeong is a relentless surgeon who only lets her skills speak for themselves. Her role? To expose the excesses of the medical system, scalpel in hand.

Lee Jung-eun, a negotiator who thinks only about money

Lee Jung-eun plays Jang Hee-sook, the head of a physician recruitment agency whose main concern seems to be very simple: making money.

At first glance, the character may come across as an exuberant materialist who talks a lot. But this personality actually hides a formidable businesswoman, capable of using his people skills and cunning to conduct negotiations.

Behind her flamboyant exterior, then, lies a woman who knows exactly when to stop joking around.

Son Hyun-joo, a director torn between corruption and his medical duty

Son Hyun-joo performs Boo Seung-kwon, the director of a branch of Guseo University Hospital. His goal is clear: to prevent the hospital from falling into decline and to restore the prestige it has lost.

But in order to keep the institution afloat, he agreed to dealing with a corrupt system.

However, the character should not be portrayed as merely an antagonist. Despite the compromises he has made, Boo Seung-kwon still harbors the ambition to fulfill his duty as a doctor and to protect the hospital for which he is responsible.

Kim Woo-seok, a young, still-clumsy but determined intern

Park Tae-kyung (Kim Woo-seok) is taking his first steps at Guseo University Hospital with a lot of ambition… but still very little experience.

Described as kind, enthusiastic, and sometimes clumsy, the young doctor must quickly adapt to the grueling pace of life as an intern. The new footage shows him immersed in his work, trying to find his footing in an environment that will likely give him no breaks.

For behind the facade of a prestigious university hospital lies an institution rife with power struggles and corruption. Yet Tae-kyung seems determined not to lose the warmth and sincerity that define him. This attitude already sets him apart from certain doctors who are more concerned with their position in the hierarchy.
