Between Gong Yeon-su and Dokgo Dal, the clash of values promises to be quite spectacular in « Make Me Tingle ». A first teaser shows Nam Ji-hyun in the role of a young woman raised according to particularly traditional principles, who finds herself working with the CEO of a sex toy company, played by Kim Jae-young. A collaboration that will gradually force him to question some of his beliefs about love, desire, and relationships.

Set to be released on October 15, this romantic comedy will follow Gong Yeon-su (Nam Ji-hyun), a woman who believes deeply in love without having truly discovered yet what it means to her. Her upbringing partly explains her approach to relationships. Coming from a traditional family where politeness, good manners, and discipline are of paramount importance, Yeon-su holds a very conventional view of romantic relationships.

In particular, the teaser shows her clearly setting boundaries when her boyfriend wants more physical intimacy. «Sorry, I'm not ready yet.» At the other extreme is Dokgo Dal (Kim Jae-young), who seems to have no qualms about speaking openly about sexuality.

Nam Ji-hyun enters a world that turns all her certainties upside down

Dokgo Dal runs a startup that specializes in sex toys. In the teaser, he goes to a nightclub to promote condom use with a particularly direct message: «No condom, no sex.»

And when asked what his company does, he doesn't try to beat around the bush: «It's a sex toy company.» Two worlds that seem hardly compatible... until a marketing collaboration centered on these products forces Yeon-su and Dokgo Dal to work together.

For Yeon-su, the experience initially feels like a leap into the unknown. As she discovers the products the company sells, she wonders, «Do we really have to prove our love with this?»

Dokgo Dal will then try to help him let go of some of his prejudices and encourage him to look at relationships from a different perspective.

However, the drama doesn't seem to simply want to pit a conservative woman against a much more liberal man. As Yeon-su discovers this world, it is above all her own conception of love, which she is beginning to question.

What if the problem turned out to be Kim Jae-young himself?

The teaser gradually reveals this development. What begins as an unlikely professional collaboration gradually turns into attraction. Yeon-su, who was initially very skeptical of Dokgo Dal’s ideas, begins to see him in a very different light.

To the point where you find yourself thinking he's particularly sexy. This development makes perfect sense given the hero's personality. Dokgo Dal has a much less romantic view of relationships and, in particular, sees love as a «hormonal illusion», contrary to Yeon-su's beliefs.

Their growing closeness should therefore force both characters to confront their own contradictions: she will have to figure out whether her principles truly align with what she wants, while he may be forced to reconsider his cynicism about feelings.

Behind its deliberately provocative premise, «Make Me Tingle» seems to want to build its romance around two adults who approach intimacy and love in radically different ways, only to have their certainties shaken by their encounter.

«Make Me Tingle» will premiere on October 15. No international broadcasters have been announced yet, other than HBO Max.
