It had been one of the questions fans had been asking for several weeks: « Four Hands, Two Sonatas » will indeed be available on Netflix. The streaming service has officially confirmed that the drama will be available starting August 29, 2026, simultaneously with its premiere on tvN in South Korea.
To accompany this announcement, a very first teaser was also unveiled, offering a glimpse into the relationship between the characters played by Song Kang and Lee Jun-young.
Two brilliant pianists with contrasting fates
As we mentioned earlier when introducing the characters, «Four Hands, Two Sonatas» tells the story of Kang Bi-oh (Song Kang), a model student recognized as a true piano prodigy, and Choi Jeong-yo (Lee Jun-young), another exceptional musician who, after a difficult childhood, spent a long time trying to run away from his own talent.
Their meeting at an arts high school will gradually shake their convictions.
The very title of the series refers to the technique of «four hands», in which two pianists play simultaneously on the same keyboard. A metaphor that perfectly symbolizes the complex relationship that develops between them, oscillating between admiration, friendship, rivalry, and pushing themselves to new heights.
A first teaser that builds the suspense
This first teaser, presented in the form of a «keyboard teaser,» highlights this relationship. After introducing Kang Bi-oh and Choi Jeong-yo separately, the footage shows them sitting side by side at the same piano, playing four-handed with near-perfect synchronization.
But this harmony lasts only a moment.
When Camille Saint-Saëns’s famous *Danse Macabre* begins to play, the atmosphere changes abruptly. Their gazes take on a deeper meaning, the competition takes over, and a palpable tension settles between the two young prodigies.
The latest images show them facing a moment that could very well determine their future, hinting at a story in which music will be both a bond and a battleground.
