He hadn’t starred in a romantic drama in fifteen years. Go Soo is making his return to the genre with «Nine to Six,» the new SBS office romance comedy starring Park Min-young and Yook Sungjae. The first images of the actor reveal an impeccable executive who is as gentle in appearance as he is formidable in reality.
A New Director at Chronic Motors
Go Soo plays Park Hyun-tae, a division director who has just been assigned to Chronic Motors, the automaker where the story takes place. He’s the kind of executive who judges his employees solely on their skills and results.
But Park Hyun-tae isn't just a cold-hearted manager. He also has a real talent for spotting exceptional talent. A quality that might well lead him to take a close interest in Kang Yi-ji, the brilliant, perfectionist executive played by Park Min-young.
The new photos show him in his daily life, completely focused on his work. Even on a plane, he never stops: we see him poring over documents on his tablet, completely absorbed.
Other photos reveal his more sociable side. When speaking with others, he has a deep gaze and a composed demeanor. But behind this gentle exterior lies a calm, thoughtful personality… and one that is undoubtedly far more calculating than it appears.
One obvious thing they have in common with Kang Yi-ji: both of them put their careers above all else. It remains to be seen whether this similarity will make them allies, rivals… or something else.
A long-awaited return
For Go Soo, this role marks a return to the romantic genre after a very long hiatus. The actor, who has just left the agency he worked with for 15 years, appears to be entering a new phase in his career.
He is also rumored to be cast opposite Kim Hee-sun in « The Wife », a dark MBC drama that would reunite them 23 years after «My Fair Lady.» These two projects—which couldn’t be more different—mark his major return to the small screen. In «Nine to Six,» he joins an already strong cast alongside Park Min-young, Yook Sungjae, and Joo Hyun-young.
«Nine to Six» will air starting Wednesday, November 25, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. (Korean time)—which is 1:00 p.m. in France—on SBS and on Prime Video internationally.
