After releasing its first teasers, « A Shop for Killers 2 » continues to build anticipation for its return with a new series of images showcasing both familiar characters and the new adversaries who will be joining the story.
This second season will pick up after the explosive events of the first, as Jeong Ji-an officially inherits her uncle’s underground empire and prepares to take on the Babylon organization.
A closer-knit team and a transformed Ji-an
The new stills feature Jeong Jin-man (Lee Dong-wook), who has returned alive against all odds, alongside his niece Jeong Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun).
After surviving the many attacks of the first season, Ji-an appears to have undergone a profound transformation. Whereas she once simply tried to stay alive, she now seems to have fully embraced her role as the leader of Murthehelp.
Her more assured gaze and much more confident posture illustrate the character's evolution; she is now ready to enter the world of assassins without hesitation.
Min-hye (Geum Hae-na) and Pasin (Kim Min), two loyal allies, are also back. Together, they will form an even stronger team to launch a full-scale counteroffensive against Babylon.
Jin-man and Ji-an's reunion also promises to strengthen the dynamic between the two following the dramatic events of the first season.
Babylon Welcomes Some Formidable New Faces
But the heroes will have to face an even greater threat. The Babylon mercenary organization is now expanding its influence through a branch dedicated to East Asia.
Among the new characters is Kusunagi, played by Jung Yun-ha. As the head of this new division, she exudes a particularly mysterious aura and remains calm even when faced with killers as dangerous as Bale.
The latter, played by Jo Han-sun, is also back. Nicknamed the «killing machine,» he continues his vendetta against Jin-man, foreshadowing another particularly violent showdown between the two men.
Babylon's Asian branch will also be able to count on Q, played by Hyunri, a team leader within the organization, as well as Jay, played by Japanese actor Masaki Okada, who is described as one of the group's best mercenaries.
The arrival of these new characters is expected to significantly raise the stakes and expand the series' universe.
«A Shop for Killers 2» is expected to premiere in July on Disney+, though no specific release date has been announced yet.
