Biography

Born on November 16, 1991, in Yongin, South Korea, Park Hyung-sik is one of those actors who has won the hearts of K-drama fans thanks to a rare combination of charm, gentleness, and talent. Now considered one of Korea’s biggest stars, he has made a name for himself as both a singer and an actor.

Before making a name for himself on screen, Park Hyung-sik began his career in music in 2010 by joining the boy band ZE:A, where he was one of the lead vocalists. Passionate about music since his teenage years, he also appeared in several musicals, developing a stage presence that would prove invaluable for his future acting career.

His journey, however, has not been an easy one. During his formative years, he went through a difficult period marked by isolation and deep depression. The support of his future ZE:A bandmates gradually helped him regain his self-confidence. This sensitivity, which is still evident in his roles today, undoubtedly explains Park Hyung-sik’s ability to convey such a wide range of emotions on screen.

After several appearances in supporting roles, he made a name for himself in The Heirs in 2013, and then confirmed its potential with What Happens to My Family? and High Society. But it was really in 2016 that he became a major figure in K-dramas thanks to Hwarang, in which he plays the future king Sam Maek-jong alongside Park Seo-joon and Kim Taehyung (V of BTS). The drama also allows him to form a deep friendship with the members of the famous Wooga Squad.

The following year marked a turning point with Strong Woman Do Bong-soon. His portrayal of An Min-hyeok—an eccentric, romantic, and deeply endearing CEO—immediately wins over viewers. His chemistry with Park Bo-young makes this drama one of the most beloved romances of the past decade.
