She was an enthusiastic doctor, a noblewoman swept up in the war, a mother with a broken heart, and even a single woman forced to invent a husband for herself in order to land a job. In just a few years, Ahn Eun-jin has built up a particularly diverse filmography, with this ability to make his characters feel immediately human, even when they are flawed.
Many fans first discovered her through Hospital Playlist, before seeing it take on an entirely new dimension in My Dearest. Since then, the actress has alternated between romances, dramas, and comedies without ever really limiting herself to a single genre.

As she prepares to return alongside Seo Kang-joon in " A Love Other Than Yours«, scheduled for September 2026—here are Ahn Eun-jin’s must-see roles to help you discover (or rediscover) her career.”.
1. My Dearest – Yoo Gil-chae
If one had to choose just one role to understand why Ahn Eun-jin is now considered a leading actress, it would probably be Yoo Gil-chae.

In My Dearest, she plays a young woman from a good family living during the Joseon Dynasty. At the beginning of the story, Gil-chae is lively, flirtatious, fairly self-assured, and more concerned with her romantic entanglements than with the upheavals threatening her country. But the Qing invasion brings a sudden end to this sheltered existence.
War, separations, and her tumultuous relationship with Lee Jang-hyun, played by Namkoong Min, will profoundly transform her. Above all, Ahn Eun-jin succeeds in making this evolution believable: Gil-chae doesn’t suddenly become an invincible heroine; she learns to survive because she has no other choice.
It’s a role filled with fear, love, grief, and an incredible will to live—probably the most well-rounded performance of his career to date.

2. Hospital Playlist – Chu Min-ha
Before Gil-chae, there was Chu Min-ha, and many viewers still have a special fondness for her.

In Hospital Playlist, Ahn Eun-jin is not one of the five doctors at the center of the series. However, as an OB-GYN resident, she gradually manages to carve out a real place for herself in the story.
Min-ha is hardworking, spontaneous, sometimes clumsy, and above all, extremely sincere. This candor is also evident in her feelings for the very reserved Yang Seok-hyung (Kim Dae-myung). Whereas so many characters in romantic dramas spend entire episodes hiding their feelings, she chooses instead to be open about them.
Much of the character’s charm comes from the naturalness that Ahn Eun-jin brings to her. She can be funny in one scene, exhausted from work in the next, and then surprisingly touching just a few minutes later. Her very slow-burning romance with Seok-hyung has, in fact, become one of the favorite relationships for many fans of the series.
The the role that truly made him a household name.

3. The Good Bad Mother – Lee Mi-joo
With The Good Bad Mother, Ahn Eun-jin finds herself at the center of a story in which romance is just one piece of a much larger whole centered on family, the wounds of the past, and second chances.

She's playing Lee Mi-joo, Choi Kang-ho’s (Lee Do-hyun) childhood friend and former love interest. Their relationship ended painfully, and Mi-joo is now raising her twins without him. When Kang-ho returns to their village after an accident that completely turns his life upside down, the feelings she had tried to bury gradually resurface.
Mi-joo could easily have been just «the hero’s ex-girlfriend.» Fortunately, Ahn Eun-jin makes her so much more: a woman who works, raises her children, carries her own wounds, and refuses to let her life revolve solely around Kang-ho.
His warm performance adds so much to the series' most emotional moments without ever coming across as overdone.
- Where to watch: on Netflix.
4. Dynamite Kiss – Go Da-rim
After several particularly emotionally charged roles, Dynamite Kiss allows Ahn Eun-jin to return in 2025 in a a much lighter and more action-packed rom-com.

In it, she plays the role of Go Da-rim, a single woman in financial trouble who decides to pretend to be a married mother in order to get a job at a company that specializes in baby products.
Lying is complicated enough as it is. Except that her new boss, Gong Ji-hyeok (Jang Ki-yong), is the very man she had met in Jeju not long before… and with whom she had shared a memorable kiss.
Now Ji-hyeok is convinced that the woman he likes has a husband and a child, while Da-rim must constantly work to keep their relationship from falling apart.
After My Dearest and The Good Bad Mother, the role serves above all as a reminder of just how effective Ahn Eun-jin can be in comedy. She imbues Da-rim with enough energy and vulnerability to ensure that her enormous lie never reduces her to a mere comic device.
- Where to watch: on Netflix.
5. The One and Only – Pyo In-sook
If you want to see Ahn Eun-jin in a much darker role, The One and Only clearly deserves a spot on this list.

In it, she plays Pyo In-sook, a young woman who learns she has a terminal illness. She then meets two other women facing the same reality, and together they begin to rethink what they want to do with the time they have left.
It is also in this context that In-sook meets Min Woo-cheon (Kim Kyung-nam), a solitary man whose life will gradually become intertwined with hers.
The story could easily have veered into excessive melodrama. Instead, Ahn Eun-jin relies heavily on restraint, imbuing In-sook with a weariness and anger that make her deeply human.
A drama that's less well-known than its big hits, but one of his most interesting leading roles, which showcases his dramatic range.

6. Strangers from Hell – So Jung-hwa
A small role, but a radical change of setting. In the psychological thriller Strangers from Hell, starring Im Si-wan and Lee Dong-wook, Ahn Eun-jin plays So Jung-hwa, a police officer who begins investigating the troubling events surrounding the Eden Residence.

She isn't the main character, but her presence provides an important counterpoint to the series' suffocating atmosphere. The further she goes in her investigation, the more she realizes that the suspicions surrounding the building's residents are far from being merely a figment of Jong-woo's imagination.
For those who know Ahn Eun-jin only through her romance novels, seeing her appear in this oppressive world is also a good way to realize just how His filmography isn't limited to love stories.

7. Genie, Make a Wish – Lee Mi-joo
In 2025, Ahn Eun-jin entered the much more whimsical world of Genie, Make a Wish, the fantasy romantic comedy starring Kim Woo-bin and Suzy.

The series follows Ka-young, a young woman who is particularly cold and detached, who frees a genie after nearly a thousand years of slumber. As the genie grants her three wishes, their encounter gradually transforms her everyday life into a world where magic, destiny, and emotions intertwine.
Ahn Eun-jin stars in it Lee Mi-joo, a supporting character who plays a significant role in the second half of the story. Although she isn’t at the center of the main romance, she brings a presence that’s very different from her more realistic roles and allows us to see her in a much more offbeat fantasy setting.
It isn't her most impressive role, but it perfectly rounds out this selection by showing that Ahn Eun-jin can also thrive in a lighter, supernatural setting, far removed from the intensity of My Dearest or The One and Only.
- Where to watch: on Netflix
And coming soon: *A Love Other Than Yours*…
After the romantic comedy from Dynamite Kiss, Ahn Eun-jin is expected to return to a much more mature romantic storyline with A Love Other Than Yours.

In it, she plays Lee Mi-do, who has been in a relationship with Namgung Ho—played by Seo Kang-joon—for ten years. Their long-term relationship reaches a turning point when Mi-do begins to develop feelings for another man.
On paper, then, this is a far cry from the traditional «they meet, they fall in love» storyline. The drama focuses on what happens well after a romance has begun, when time, habits, and individual choices begin to challenge what we thought was a given.
The series is set to premiere on September 12, 2026, on KBS2, with an international release scheduled on Prime Video.
A role that ultimately seems quite natural given Ahn Eun-jin’s career path. From Chu Min-ha, brimming with sincerity in Hospital Playlist, to Gil-chae's remarkable growth in My Dearest, the actress truly shines when she’s cast as women with conflicting emotions and decisions that aren’t always straightforward.
And that may be what makes her filmography so enjoyable to follow: Ahn Eun-jin never really gives the impression that she’s playing the same woman twice.
And you—in what role did you first discover Ahn Eun-jin? Here, our favorite is «My Dearest,» but we can’t wait to see her character in «A Love Other Than Yours» and her scene with Seo Kang Joon.
