The couple has barely settled in when a new disruptive element appears. In episode 7 of « Between Steps », which aired this Monday, Kim Se-jin, played by Im Jin-hyo, keeps getting in the way of Park Min-jae (Choo Young-woo) and Im Yoo-jin (Kim So-hyun). But this isn't a love triangle: the rivalry that's about to unfold is of a completely different kind.
Warning: Spoilers for previous episodes.
A couple learning to live together
Ever since they promised to stay together until the end, Min-jae—a former swimmer who has had his right leg amputated—and Yoo-jin—a master’s student trying to find her path—have been learning to cope with everyday life: minor arguments, mood swings, and a delicate encounter with Hong Eun-joo (Shim Hye-jin), Min-jae’s mother.
Episode 6, however, had ended on a much-anticipated note, with Min-jae's first «I love you», and on the series' highest viewership rating.
Se-jin, the Clumsy Admirer
This is where Kim Se-jin comes in. The new footage shows him in the middle of a serious conversation with Min-jae, his hands clasped behind his head, a troubled look on his face. Min-jae, for his part, stares at him intently. What has driven Se-jin to seek him out in such a state?

A clue can be found in the preview released last week: In it, Se-jin fell head over heels in love with a young woman named Su-bin at first sight, and Min-jae decided to help him win her over.
A Battle of Nerves with Yoo-jin
But not everyone is happy about Se-jin’s arrival in the couple’s lives. Other images show Yoo-jin and Se-jin face to face, exchanging icy glances.

The show promises a tense yet entertaining «war of nerves» between the two. Each cares for Min-jae in their own way: she out of love, he out of admiration. And Se-jin seems determined to meddle in the couple’s daily life, even if it means putting them in unexpected situations.
Episode 7 of «Between Steps» will air this Monday, October 26, at 10 p.m. (Korean time)—2 p.m. in France—on ENA, and will be available on Disney+ (but not in Europe).
