After several months of waiting and much speculation, «The Second Signal» (Signal 2) has finally found a spot in tvN's programming lineup.

According to an exclusive article published by the Korean media outlet MyDaily, the series is scheduled to air starting November 30 on Mondays and Tuesdays. This highly anticipated sequel to Signal would consist of eight episodes and end on December 22.

Ten years after the original series aired, this comeback is one of the most anticipated projects on Korean television.

A long-delayed return

Initially, "Signal 2" was scheduled to air as part of tvN's 20th-anniversary celebrations. However, the project was ultimately postponed several times.

Filming, however, was reportedly completed in its entirety by August 2025. The series was then ready to air before a controversy involving Jo Jin-woong disrupted the schedule.

According to several Korean media outlets, incidents dating back to his youth reportedly resurfaced last year. At the time, the actor’s agency stated that he acknowledged having made mistakes while he was a minor, while clarifying that the incidents occurred more than 30 years ago and that the legal proceedings had long since been concluded.

According to MyDaily, the production team reportedly explored various options regarding the actor's presence, including editing changes and the use of digital tools. Ultimately, his character is set to appear in the series without a significant reduction in his screen time.

The Original Trio's Reunion

«Signal» told the story of police officers from two different eras who communicated via a mysterious radio to solve old, unsolved cases.

The drama, written by Kim Eun-hee, was a huge hit when it aired, reaching a 13.4 % rating for its final episode. Lee Je-hoon, Kim Hye-soo, and Jo Jin-woong are reprising their roles in this new season, while Ahn Tae-jin is directing.

Although tvN has not yet officially confirmed this air date, the announcement of a November 30 broadcast marks an important milestone for a sequel that fans have been waiting for nearly ten years.

Our previous article from February 10, 2026

The drama Signal 2, starring Lee Je-Hoon and Kim Hye-Soo, has been put on indefinite hiatus. Entitled « The Second Signal« the sequel to Signal has already finished filming and was originally scheduled for broadcast in 2026 on tvN.

According to several sources, broadcasting has now stalled due to controversies linked to the past of one of the main actors, Jo Jin-woong, as well as his retirement from the entertainment industry. As a result, the drama has been withdrawn from the official tvN 2026 line-up recently unveiled by CJ ENM.

Signal 2 joins the list of dramas “held hostage”, like « Knock Off« where a scandal involving a leading actor puts the work of an entire cast, technical crew and production on hold, despite months - even years - of work already accomplished.
