Ten years of hard work, outlandish costumes, and an undiminished passion for the stage: tvN has unveiled, one after another, the first poster and the first teaser for « Happy Anding ». This drama, set to premiere on November 6, follows three unknown comedians who stubbornly refuse to give up on their dream.
Asura: Ten Years of Anonymity
At the heart of the series is Asura, a comedy trio that never made it big. Kang Hoon Cho Hyun-chul plays Kang Tae-gu, the group's leader; Kim Nam-il plays the group's sharpest member; and Kim Jung-jin plays Han Jun-seo.
For the past 10 years, they’ve been performing one show after another to widespread indifference. But their path will change the day they cross paths with a mysterious woman. This encounter will prompt them to reflect on their future and, each in their own way, seek a fresh start.
«Happy Anding» is thus a coming-of-age story centered on characters who are no longer in their twenties but have not yet found their place in the world.
A human pyramid to celebrate their 10th anniversary
The first poster perfectly captures the spirit of the trio. In it, Kang Tae-gu, Kim Nam-il, and Han Jun-seo form a human pyramid, precariously balanced, to promote the show celebrating their ten-year career.
The slogan takes the form of an invitation: «We invite you to the Asura comedy trio’s 10th-anniversary show.» It’s an image that’s both funny and touching, showing three men who are more passionate than ever about making people laugh, despite having spent a decade in the shadows.
A teaser that plays on chaos
The first teaser takes a look at Asura’s chaotic daily life. Extravagant costumes, zany antics, and jokes that make everyone laugh—especially the people telling them: this trio will stop at nothing.
Kang Tae-gu plays the ringleader with disarming confidence. He asks his two accomplices to trust him and follow him without the slightest hesitation. To those around them, they come across more as a nuisance. But nothing can stop them: the three comedians remain determined to pursue their dream, no matter the cost.
Somewhere between comedy and drama, «Happy Anding» seems to aim to tenderly portray the perseverance of those who refuse to give up, even when success is slow in coming.
