Before lies, conflicting memories, and suspicions took over, Kang Ji-sun led a particularly ordinary life. « The Perfect Lie » has just unveiled the first images of Seo Hyun-jin in character, showing a face quite different from the one seen in the first teaser.
In this MBC psychological thriller, the actress plays a librarian and elementary school teacher whose quiet daily life begins to unravel after she meets Min Joon-ho, the heart surgeon played by Yoo Yeon-seok. And yet, the match got off to the best possible start.

Seo Hyun-jin comes across as warm and friendly with her students
Directed by Jo Young-min («You and Everything Else»), «The Perfect Lie» will revolve around a particularly unsettling conflict: A man and a woman recount the same memory in two completely opposite ways, with each defending their own version of the truth.
Seo Hyun-jin plays Kang Ji-sun, who is convinced that her account matches what actually happened. In her daily life, Ji-sun works as a librarian and teacher at an elementary school. However, she doesn’t just listen to what those around her say; she also tries to understand the intentions behind their words.

New photos released by MBC show her in her classroom, surrounded by children. Smiling and attentive to her students, she seems to lead a life that is as simple as it is peaceful.
Everything begins to change when Min Joon-ho enters her life. Played by Yoo Yeon-seok, this renowned heart surgeon had already been portrayed in earlier scenes as a perfectionist doctor who is extremely meticulous in his work. Their first encounter leads to A first date that goes perfectly.
But this apparent success also marked the beginning of the problems.

Can we really believe Kang Ji-sun's version of events?
After that meeting, unexpected changes begin to disrupt Ji-sun’s previously peaceful daily life. And the contrast with the drama’s first teaser is striking.
While the new photos show her smiling in front of her students, the teaser revealed a much more tense woman, who insisted: «I'm telling you, it's not a lie.»
These two sides of the same character lie at the heart of the central question in «The Perfect Lie»: to what extent can we trust what Ji-sun says? The mystery is all the more compelling because Joon-ho, for his part, will present a different version of the same memory. What seemed to begin as an ideal romantic encounter thus evolves into a confrontation over the truth, with each person insisting that their memories are the correct ones.
After recently showing Yoo Yeon-seok moving from the operating room to a mysterious interrogation room, «The Perfect Lie» now depicts the everyday life leading up to Seo Hyun-jin’s upheaval.
And behind her reassuring smile as a teacher lies the very question on which the entire thriller will hinge: Which of the two is actually telling the truth?
«The Perfect Lie» will premiere on October 30 at 9:50 p.m. on MBC and will be available on Disney+ (to be confirmed internationally).
